On Bank Account Security

In view of recent scare about BPI's downtime in online access and clients' funds reportedly going missing, I felt the need to share this to you for your security.

But first, let me take note that despite the seemingly poor I.T. Maintenance of BPI, they're still my favorite bank. That being said, I want to warn people to be wary about emails asking for your personal information, pretending to be your banks.

Just recently, I've received 3 successive emails from a certain "BPI News", repeatedly asking me to log in and update my personal details. There's a link in the email that leads to what looks like the BPI Express Online website. However, upon checking its URL, it doesn't say bpiexpressonline.com. Here's a pic..

One Tagaytay Place Free Accommodation - A Scam or Not?

The following post is an old post from HeBlogs-SheBlogs.com...

We Won 3-Days and 2-Nights’ Accommodation!
(and a free cocktail buffet)

You see, I’m one very unlucky girl when it comes to raffles and prizes. I only won once in my life, ever. It was at a company Christmas party, where my name was drawn for the Php1,000.00 consolation prize. And it, being the first time in my life ever, I jumped and shouted and looked rather stupid.  There was another time, when I was “picked” among the many shoppers at a mall (maybe because I looked gullible enough), to be given a chance for a random raffle draw where I can draw my own prize from a bowlful of appliance showcase prizes. That is if I buy something from them. To cut the story short (because it is rather embarrassing), it was a scam and I ended up paying a 50% down payment for a Php30,000 massager to win the whole entertainment showcase of 50-inch TV with DVD player and surround speaker system, air purifier and something else that I can’t recall right now. But I can only take them home after paying the whole amount.  But since I only had a little cash and small credit limit in my card, I ended up paying Php15,000 and taking home the massager, which they didn’t want to give to me at first unless fully-paid…which I later learned from the internet that it only costs around Php7,000 – Php10,000.  I went home with an overpriced massager, feeling totally numb and stupid. I felt like I was hypnotized and felt like an idiot when I came to my senses.

Yummy Saturday Lunch at Panciteria Lido

Yesterday was our first time to eat at Panciteria Lido.  We’ve never heard of the restaurant or anything about the food that they serve there before.  You have to understand that we are not food aficionados, who make it a point to try new and different restaurants on a regular basis.  Although I know I would be if I could…afford it, that is :)

Anyway, we just happened to be driving along Shaw Blvd at noon and just happen to notice Panciteria Lido at the exact hour that our tummies are already growling in hunger. So we stopped, parked and entered the tiny food nook.  We just deduced from the look of the place and the pictures that they serve Chinese food.  Since we didn’t know anything about the place, we just ordered their flagship dish – the Pugon-Roasted Asado.  And boy, did it taste sooooo… good!  We love Chinese food but we love it more now.  Here’s a picture of our lunch:

Bwakaw (An Independent Film): From a Commoner's View

I consider myself very fortunate to have been acquainted with different kinds of people in my jack-of-all-trades career. People from high and low… and from just about any industry. But what I consider the most rewarding (emotionally, psychologically and spiritually) is knowing people from the world of arts.  And last night was a testament to this luck.  Last night, I was given the opportunity to watch a really great movie - Bwakaw - on its Gala Premiere at the CCP Main Theater.  It is an independent film and an official entry at the Cinemalaya 2012 Film Festival. I was invited by my friend, Carlo Mendoza, who was the cinematographer for this movie. Here are my tickets:
